Do you have an injury to your arm or leg?
Dr Sahni runs a fracture clinic in mascot 5 days a week
The clinic treats fractures (broken bones) or suspected fractures or other musculoskeletal injuries such as ligament tears or sprains and tendon tears or sprains.
Dont have time to wait all day in the emergency department to get an x-ray for a possible fracture?
Dr Sahni is happy to take walk in appointments for suspected fractures, see them on the day and organise a bulk billed X-ray on the day in mascot and review the results with a turn around time of 60 mins.
If a fracture is confirmed on your visit we can provide plaster casting at no additional costs.
We also provide options for splints and waterproof casts (injury permitting) at an additional cost.
In some instances your fracture might require surgery. If this is needed needed Dr Sahni has contacts with surgeons and can expedite a review in the right time time frame for how urgent your injury is.
If surgery or orthopaedic review is not required After the initial X-ray and casting/splint application appointment you will be required to be seen again in about 7-10 days with a new X-ray and cast change.
Fractures (broken bones) usually take 6 weeks to heal. This is usually the correct time frame to remove your plaster or splint and start activity. After this time generally physiotherapy is required. Dr Sahni will personally show you how to perform exercises for speedy recovery and in some cases refer you to a physio or hand therapist for intensive rehab,
